Mums & Bubs Barre
An energising postnatal barre class for new mums who want to move, strengthen and feel good, with their baby right by their side.
Is this class for you?
Barre blends Pilates, ballet and low impact cardio into an energising full body workout. This postnatal version is designed to support your recovery after birth, with your baby right there beside you.
This class is for you if:
- •You're a new mum ready to reconnect with movement and feel strong again
- •You want to rebuild strength in a fun, uplifting and supportive environment
- •You'd love to exercise while keeping your baby close
- •You're looking for connection, community and other mums in the same season of life
- •You enjoy classes that feel energising, motivating and positive
Suitable from around 6 weeks postpartum, or whenever you feel ready to begin moving again. Babies are welcome at every stage, from sleepy newborns to curious crawlers.
Safe for your recovery
Every exercise in this class is adapted for the postnatal body. Your teacher understands the physical changes that come with pregnancy, birth and recovery, and will support you based on where you are in your healing journey.
All core and pelvic floor work is postnatal aware, with options and modifications offered throughout class. Whether you're rebuilding strength after a vaginal birth or caesarean, easing back into exercise, or navigating changes in your core and pelvic floor, this class is designed to help you move safely and confidently.
If you have specific concerns around abdominal separation, pelvic floor symptoms or caesarean recovery, please reach out before your first class so we can guide you with the right modifications and support.
If you have any medical concerns, please consult your care provider before starting postnatal exercise.
What to expect
Arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in, get set up with a mat and grip socks, and have a quick check in before class begins.
Classes run for about an hour and are set to music. You'll move through barre inspired strength work for the legs and glutes, postnatal aware core and pelvic floor exercises, upper body strengthening and posture support, especially helpful for feeding, carrying and the physical demands of motherhood. Expect short bursts of low impact cardio woven throughout the class to keep things energising and fun.
Babies are welcome to relax on the mat, stay close in a carrier or explore the space beside you. You can pause to feed, cuddle or settle your baby at any point during class. Everything is designed with flexibility and real motherhood in mind.
Classes finish with stretching to help release tension and lengthen the body after all the hard work. Staying for a tea and chat afterwards is always encouraged.
Most mums leave feeling stronger, lighter and more like themselves again.
What about bub?
There's no expectation for babies to lie quietly or "behave" in this class.
Babies will cry, feed, sleep, move, need cuddles and need you. That's completely normal. Every mum in the room is in the same season of life, and somehow you rarely notice the other babies, only your own.
You're always welcome to pause, feed, settle your baby or simply take a moment whenever you need to. This is a space where real life is welcome, exactly as it is.

What our members say
Beautiful studio! We've been attending the Baby & Me Barre and Yoga and love the class sizes. Great workout and has helped a lot with post-natal recovery. The baby yoga has really assisted in my son's development and encouraged movement. Tatiana has been very professional, knowledgeable and extremely welcoming.
“Honestly the best thing I've done for myself since having my baby. Tatiana's classes are accessible, fun, a great workout and my bub loves coming along to the classes!”
“Great welcoming option for mums and bubs fitness. Tatiana is a magician with the babies and a great motivator. Arrive rushed, arrive messy, arrive tired, arrive not sure whether to give it a go. You'll find a fun workout and friendly vibe.”
Common questions
Most mums begin from around 6 weeks postpartum, or whenever they feel ready to start moving again. If you have any medical concerns or specific recovery considerations, please speak with your care provider before starting postnatal exercise.
Not at all. The class is designed to meet you where you are, whether you exercised throughout pregnancy or haven't moved your body in months. You'll work at your own pace with options offered throughout class.
The class is specifically designed for postnatal recovery and rebuilding. There's no pressure to push yourself, keep up or "bounce back." Some mums take things slowly, others are ready for more challenge. Both are completely okay.
Honestly, that's very normal.
Babies cry, feed, sleep, need cuddles and sometimes want nothing more than to be held for the entire class. You can pause, feed, settle or simply sit with your baby whenever needed. Nobody is judging you because every mum in the room has been there too.
That's completely fine too. Some days motherhood feels smooth and other days it feels hard before you even leave the house. You're welcome to take breaks, sit out exercises or simply spend part of the class cuddling your baby if that's what the day requires.
Bring a water bottle, comfortable clothing you can move in, and whatever your baby may need during the class. A baby carrier can also be helpful, but isn't essential. All exercise equipment is provided.
Evolvere is located on the first floor and access is via stairs only. There is currently no lift access or dedicated pram parking space inside the studio.
Many mums do still arrive with prams and often leave them outside the studio door at their own discretion. We recommend bringing all valuables upstairs with you. Smaller travel prams that can fold down may also be left neatly on the stair landing if space allows.
Some mums prefer to arrive with a baby carrier instead, especially during the early months.
If you're unsure what will work best for you, please feel free to contact us before your first class.
Perfect. Some babies sleep through the whole session, others stay awake and watch everything happening around them. There's no "right" way for babies to be in these classes.
Most mums walk in feeling nervous the first time. The beautiful part is that everyone is in the same season of life, figuring it out together. The atmosphere is supportive, relaxed and very far from intimidating.
There's limited street parking on Austin Street. The Lane Cove Market Square car park across the road offers 2 hours free, and the Lane Cove Canopy car park is a short walk away.
Same energy and format, but this class is adapted for postnatal recovery with core and pelvic floor-aware movement. And your baby comes with you. If you want a full-intensity session without baby logistics, Barre is the one.
